Angelo Buddy “Love” Savino
One of New Jersey’s premier bassists, Angelo Buddy “Love” Savino has been playing with the Jazz Lobsters for almost 40 yrs. His mastery of multiple genres of music, has made him an invaluable asset to Lobsters! Whether playing rock, funk, R&B, or bebop, Buddy lays it down impeccably. He’s toured and played as a sideman with Bernard Purdy, Line Drive, Jimmy Desalvo, Danny Walsh, Chuck Walsh, Doug Clark, Vinnie Corrao, and Nick Esposito to name a few. He can be heard on numerous recordings with Bernard Purdy, Tim Malchak, Norman Seldon, Guy Daniels, Solomon Hicks, Brian Keeney and Shoe Box City. He’s been house bass player at City Lights Recording Studio, Howell NJ.
Buddy “Love” Savino has taught bass and guitar for many years and brought up many an inspiring musician in NJ to reach high levels on their instruments. Buddy, a graduate of Ocean County College, studied with Leonard Savino, Alex Blake, and Jerry Carboy.
